James Miller
James joined Goron Toron in 2002 as Assistant Manager.
In October 2003, he was appointed as the stud’s Manager.
For three years, while still attending high school,
James worked part-time in the Thoroughbred Industry at
two highly regarded studs.
With this experience behind him, and his love for
horses, James attended Queensland University’s Gatton
Campus, where he completed a two year Diploma in Applied
Science Equine Studies, majoring in Horse Management.
After gaining his Diploma in 1998, James’ desire to
broaden his knowledge and experience, took him to
Germany for four years. His first year in Germany was
spent undertaking intense training under the guidance of
Peter Weston of the renowned Elite Training Stables.
After completing his training, James was appointed as
the Manager of the Elite Training Stables, where he
spent the next 3 years training horses to International
Grand Prix level.
While in Germany, James competed successfully at many
outings.
After returning to Australia, James worked as a
professional horse trainer up until his appointment as
Manager of Goron Toron.
James brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to
Goron Toron stud.
